HPD to Construct 360 Affordable Homes in Stapleton, Staten Island

New York City’s Department of Housing Preservation and DevelopmentMonadnock, Sisters of Charity Housing Development Corporation, and The Master Group to construct a new 100 percent affordable housing property in Stapleton, Staten Island. The development will create 360 new affordable homes with more than half designated for the formerly homeless, extremely-low, and very low-income households.

The affordable housing lottery has launched for The Kira, a 21-story mixed-use building at 153-19 Jamaica Avenue in downtown Jamaica, Queens. Designed by GF55 Architects and developed by SMJ Development with BFC Partners and New Destiny Housing, the structure yields 69 residences and 6,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 69 units for residents at 80 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $57,326 to $85,920.

Designed by Magnusson Architecture & Planning and developed by Radson Development, the structures each rise ten stories and yield a combined 253 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 227 units for residents at 40 to 80 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $20,538 to $118,400.

Designed by Asher Hershkowitz Architect and developed by Craig Nassi of BCN Development, the structure yields 23 residences. The Fountains Affordable Housing Complex Completes Construction in East New York, Brooklyn

Construction is now complete on The Fountains, a six-building affordable housing complex in East New York, Brooklyn. Developed by Long Island-based Arker Companies, which purchased the site for $10 million following a competitive request for proposal process facilitated by the Empire State Development Corporation, the development yields 1,163 affordable homes, commercial space, and a new public plaza.

1490 Southern Boulevard Completes Construction in Charlotte Gardens, The Bronx

Type A Real Estate Advisors and JASA recently completed a new affordable housing development at 1490 Southern Boulevard in The Bronx. The 100-percent affordable project is located in the borough’s Charlotte Gardens neighborhood and comprises 114 units for households making up to 50 percent area median income (AMI). Thirty percent of the units will be set aside formerly homeless older adults.

Affordable Housing Lottery Launches for 567 Ocean Parkway in Kensington, Brooklyn
