A Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) has been published, revealing fresh details of the three proposed Lower East Side towers that include 247 Cherry Street and 260 South Street, and a new rendering for 259 Clinton Street.
Permits have been filed for an eight-story building at 1115 East 165th Street in Longwood, The Bronx. The site is four blocks away from the Whitlock Avenue subway station, serviced by 6 trains, and six blocks from Simpson Street subway station, serviced by 2 and 5 trains. The latter station providing close access to retail and commercial amenities. New Destiny Housing will be responsible for the development. Their firm specializes with building housing for vulnerable homeless populations in the city.
Permits have been filed for a 17-story building at 1164 River Avenue in The Bronx’s Concourse neighborhood. The site is half a block away from the 167th Street subway station, serviced by the 4 train and just one stop away from Yankee Stadium, and three blocks away from the 167th Street subway station, serviced by the B and D trains. Maddd Equities is listed as responsible for the development.
The debate regarding 80 Flatbush Avenue continues. While the project would rise across the street from what had long been Brooklyn’s tallest tower at One Hanson Place, its opponents’ attacks have escalated following YIMBY’s report on a poll showing a 3:1 margin of support, with the NIMBY group behind its creation and deletion accusing “foreign bots” of meddling in the outcome. Today, however, comes another marker of broad community support, as we have word that the Arab American Family Support Center (AAFSC) has officially endorsed the mixed-use development.
