Brooklyn’s Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood has seen substantial revitalization over the past decade, and another empty lot will soon add to the continued improvements at 722-733 Myrtle Avenue, on the corner of Sanford Street. There, JMS Realty Corporation is planning an eight-story mixed-use development, which is part of a larger rezoning application including several nearby sites.
Flushing has been booming with new developments, as demand for more space in New York City’s largest Chinatown has continued to increase. Today, YIMBY has the first renderings of another project coming to the neighborhood, at 135-01 35th Avenue, where Stenmax Realty Inc. is planning an eight-story mixed-use building.
With East New York’s rezoning now finalized, YIMBY recently revealed one of the first big developments coming to the neighborhood, at 1427-1429 Loring Avenue. Permits were also recently filed for a new complex at 3301 Atlantic Avenue/250 Euclid Avenue, at the end of January. Now, we have the first rendering for that building as well, which is being designed by Dattner Architects.
East New York has been in the headlines recently thanks to a major rezoning that is paving the way for the area’s transformation into a denser and fully revitalized neighborhood, and now YIMBY has the first images of a major new development coming to 1427-1449 Loring Avenue. The plans, designed by Magnusson Architecture and Planning, PC, would result in four buildings covering an entire city block.
Downtown Brooklyn is a hotbed for major new developments, with sites like 9 DeKalb Avenue set to sprout supertall towers in the near future. But smaller opportunities for positive transformations still abound within the myriad of older structures that compose the bulk of the neighborhood’s urban fabric, and one such opportunity is located at 50 Nevins Street, which is set for a redevelopment and expansion by the Institute for Community Living.
