When we last checked in on the site of Tribeca Associates’ planned 26-story, 228-key hotel at 143 Fulton Street, between Broadway and Nassau Street in the Financial District, demolition of its three-story occupant was underway. Since then, demolition has been completed and, thanks to a YIMBY reader, we have a new look at the coming hotel.
Back in April 0f 2015, the Department of City Planning selected Brooklyn-based Monadnock Development to build an all-affordable residential building with commercial space at the parking lot at 133-45 – 133-55 41st Avenue, in Downtown Flushing. Now the developer has filed applications for the project, which will rise 10 stories and contain 232 residential units. The new building, dubbed One Flushing, will encompass 286,193 square feet, and ground-floor commercial-retail and community facility space will total 28,864 and 13,872 square feet, respectively. Apartments will begin on the second floor and should average 792 square feet apiece.
As warm weather ushers the beginning of March, Rockrose Development’s 43-25 Hunter Street in Long Island City stands over 35-stories-tall. At 509 feet, the tower will become the fourth tallest in Queens upon its completion in 2017, when its 974 units will make it one of the city’s largest residential buildings.
During a raucous and packed public meeting on Tuesday night, developer Avery Hall Investments laid out their plans for a seven-story apartment building with retail and a grocery store, which will replace a Key Food at 120 Fifth Avenue in Park Slope.
In the final days of 2014, YIMBY reported on applications for an eight-story, 114-unit mixed-use building at 435 East 13th Street (a.k.a 432-438 East 14th Street), in the East Village, and nearly a year later, crews demolished the site’s old two-story post office building. Now, EV Grieve has the first glimpse of the project, which will encompass 135,186 square feet and two buildings, per the latest filings. Located on both ends of the block-thru parcel, each building will feature 8,700 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The residential units will average 769 square feet apiece and 20 percent of them will rent at below market-rates. Benenson Capital Partners and Mack Real Estate Group are developing, and SLCE Architects is designing the project. Completion is anticipated for early 2017.
