Historic YMCA in Tarrytown to be Redeveloped into Affordable Housing

Affordable housing developer Wilder Balter recently purchased a historic YMCA building in Tarrytown. The 41,537-square-foot, four-story structure at 62 Main Street was originally constructed in 1928 and has had numerous additions since then. RM Friedland, which brokered the deal, announced the $6.45 million sale and the developer’s intention to preserve the masonry façade, while turning it into 109 affordable housing units and 100 parking spaces for local merchants.

New Details Released for Eastern Mirage Medical Center in Flushing, Queens

Fleet Financial Group is developing a state-of-the-art healthcare facility called Eastern Mirage Medical Center at 42-31 Union Street in Flushing, Queens. The 104,000-square-foot medical center will be located within the tallest building in Flushing, an 18-story mixed-use structure that will also house the Eastern Mirage hotel.

Demo Permits Filed for 191 East 115th Street in East Harlem, Manhattan

Demolition permits were filed for 191 East 115th Street in Manhattan’s East Harlem neighborhood. The site is currently occupied by a vacant 61-foot-high, mixed-use building with 17 residential units and three commercial units spread across five stories. Rami Noy of Starwood Group LLC is listed as the owner of the site. Helm NYC, a residential management company is also associated with the site.

The affordable housing lottery has launched for 188 Humboldt Street, a seven-story residential building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The 58,754-square-foot development was designed by Charles Mallea and yields 55 units. Available on NYC Housing Connect are four units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $74,606 to $167,570.

Permits have been filed for a six-story mixed-use building at 383 Union Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The site is two blocks away from the Metropolitan Avenue subway station, serviced by the G and L trains. Yochanan Tennenhaus under the Union Holdings NY LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications. Permits filed in 2018 called for a five-story building with ground-floor commercial space and five condominium units above.

Rendering Reveals Commercial Development at 278 8th Avenue in Chelsea, Manhattan

A new rendering reveals what appears to be a 12-story glass commercial tower at 278 8th Avenue in Chelsea, Manhattan. The 40,000-square-foot property extends from West 23rd Street to West 24th Street and is owned by JJ Operating, who purchased 258-278 8th Avenue for $107 million in 2017.

The 137,747-square-foot steel development was designed by Perkins Eastman and yields 118 units. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 106 units for residents at 30 to 80 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $14,915 to $118,400.

Permits have been filed for a seven-story mixed-use building at 1340 Blondell Avenue in Westchester Square, The Bronx. Located between Fink Avenue and Ponton Avenue, the lot is near the Westchester Square-East Tremont Avenue subway station, serviced by the 6 train. Nimrud Eyal of Exact Capital Group, under the Blondell Equities LLC, is listed as the owner behind the applications. YIMBY previously reported Blondell Equities filed a rezoning proposal for a nine-story mixed-use structure at the site.
