Exterior work is now complete at 99 Hudson Street, a 79-story, 900-foot-tall residential skyscraper in Jersey City. Designed by Perkins Eastman and developed by COA 99 Hudson, LLC, the tower stands as the tallest building in the state of New Jersey. Plaza Construction is in charge of the construction with Vidaris overseeing the installation of the glass and Jura limestone envelope. 99 Hudson Street is situated on a full-block parcel bound by Hudson Street to the east, Grand Street to the south, Greene Street to the west, and York Street to the north. Meanwhile there has already been 70 closings so far and there are expected to be over 150 closings by the end of 2020.
Work is progressing on the warm-colored masonry walls and windows of the 230-foot-tall, 24-story expansion at 250 Fifth Avenue in NoMad. Designed by Perkins Eastman, PBDW Architects, and Martin Brudnizki Design Studio and developed by Flaneur Hospitality, the project also includes the renovation of the adjacent 115-year-old bank building designed by McKim, Mead & White. The property will eventually debut as The Fifth Avenue Hotel.
Last month, RXR Realty celebrated the topping off of The Willoughby, a 34-story mixed-use tower at 196 Willoughby Street on the Long Island University Brooklyn campus. Located in Downtown Brooklyn, the new ground-up structure contains residential units, academic and office space, a state-of-the-art athletic field, and parking for 564 vehicles. Perkins Eastman is responsible for the design of the 435-foot-tall building.
Exterior work is nearing completion on the Turkevi Center, a 563-foot-tall mixed-use skyscraper at 821 First Avenue in the Midtown East neighborhood of Turtle Bay. Only a few minor touches remain to be completed on the podium of the 35-story tower, which is designed by Perkins Eastman and will serve as the consulate for the Republic of Turkey.
Permits have been filed for a 12-story mixed-use building at 90-02 168th Street in Jamaica, Queens. Located at the intersection of 90th Avenue and 168th Street, the corner lot is a five-minute walk to the 169th Street subway station, serviced by the E and F trains. BRP Companies under the 90 Ninety Developer LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.
