Permits have been filed for an 11-story mixed-use building at 589 Christopher Avenue in Brownsville, Brooklyn. Located on the corner of New Lots Avenue and Christoper Avenue, the lot is four blocks from the New Lots Avenue subway station, serviced by the L train. Procida Companies is listed as the owner behind the applications.
Façade work on the Turkevi Center at 821 First Avenue in the Midtown East neighborhood of Turtle Bay is taking shape. Located at the intersection of East 46th Street and First Avenue, the topped-out reinforced concrete skyscraper rises 563 feet and will eventually serve as the consulate of the Republic of Turkey. Perkins Eastman is the designer of the 35-story mixed-use development.
Façade work is nearing completion at 99 Hudson Street, the tallest skyscraper in New Jersey. Designed by Perkins Eastman and developed by China Overseas America, the topped-out 900-foot-tall residential tower soars prominently above the Jersey City skyline. Plaza Construction is in charge of building the 79-story project and Vidaris is overseeing the exterior envelope, which is getting close to wrapping up. Assembly of the glass crown and installation of the Jura limestone curtain wall on the lower levels are the only components remaining.
Construction at 106 West 56th Street has recently topped out at 27 stories. The Perkins Eastman-designed office building stands 403 feet tall and is being developed by private equity firm Savanna Fund, along with Hong Kong-based developer Atom Assets. The steel superstructure and its gentle setbacks should soon see the first glass curtain wall panels installed in the coming weeks. The site is located just one block south of 57th Street, aka Billionaires’ Row.
The massive upcoming development dubbed Hudson Exchange West will sit close to the waterfront of downtown Jersey City, and the first towers, designed by Perkins Eastman, will yield a combined total of 625,000 square feet. The 18-acre mixed-use master plan is being developed by Brookfield Properties and the grand plan’s second residential tower is already making its way into the skyline, with topping-out now drawing near.
