Permits Filed for High-Rise at 61 DeKalb Avenue, Downtown Brooklyn

A new high-rise could be coming right next to the future supertall at 9 DeKalb Avenue. Permits have been filed for a 34-story residential building and parking garage at 61 DeKalb Avenue, on Long Island University’s campus in Downtown Brooklyn. The site is just a handful of blocks away from the A, B, C, D, G, Q, R, 2 3, 4, and 5 train, giving it near-immediate access to the rest of the city. Also in the neighborhood is NYU’s growing Brooklyn campus. LIU will be responsible for development.

Facade Installation Begins on 99 Hudson Street, Jersey City

Jersey City‘s soon-to-be-tallest skyscraper at 99 Hudson Street has had a fairly speedy rise into the skyline following its ground-breaking back in January of 2016. YIMBY last checked in on the project in August of last year, when foundation work had just begun, and since then, the building has sprouted well above ground. Now, the tower is rising above the garage and retail portion, and facade installation has also begun.

Construction has topped out and façade installation is imminent on the nine-story, 175-key Hoxton Hotel under development at 97 Wythe Avenue, located on the corner of North 9th Street in Williamsburg. The structure can be seen in an update by the Brooklyn Daily Eagle. The latest building permits indicate the new building will encompass 80,118 square feet and rise 96 feet to its roof.

Developers Seek Rezoning for Multi-Building, 512-Unit Affordable Mixed-Use Project at 110 New Lots Avenue, Brownsville

New details are emerging of the affordable mixed-use project planned at 110 New Lots Avenue, in southern Brownsville. The project was reported to consist of 481 units when plans were first unveiled in October. Developers have now filed applications with the Department of City Planning to rezone the two-block assemblage for a multi-building project, called Ebenezer Plaza, with a total 512 apartments, an increase of 31 units. All of the units would rent at below-market rates.
