Foundation Work Underway at Seven-Story, 36-Unit Mixed-Use Building at 306 West 142nd Street, Harlem

In June of 2015, YIMBY reported on applications for a seven-story, 36-unit mixed-use building at 306 West 142nd Street, in northern Harlem. Since then, a rendering has surfaced of the project, and concrete pouring for the foundation is underway, Harlem+Bespoke reports. The structure will encompass 38,991 square feet, of which 2,036 square feet of space will be designated for a ground-floor community facility. The residential units should average 650 square feet apiece, indicative of rental apartments, and amenities include storage space for 18 bikes, laundry, an outdoor space on the ground-floor, and a rooftop terrace. Montroy Andersen DeMarco is designing, although EDI International is currently serving as the architect of record. Heritage Real Estate Partners is the developer. Completion can probably be expected in 2017.

Eight-Story, 54-Unit Mixed-Use Building Tops Out At 264 West 140th Street, Harlem

Back in October of 2015, construction was underway on the ground floor of the eight-story, 54-unit mixed-use building being developed at 275 West 140th Street, in northern Harlem. Now, Harlem+Bespoke reports the structure has topped out, and it appears façade installation is imminent. Dubbed Strivers Plaza, the 64,948-square-foot project will eventually host studio, one-, and two-bedroom rental apartments. Individual units should average 876 square feet apiece, and amenities listed in the Schedule A include recreational rooms, storage for 28 bikes, an outdoor recreational area on the second floor, refuse rooms on each floor, and a rooftop terrace on the seventh floor. An 8,024-square-foot supermarket will occupy most of the ground floor, along with a 498-square-foot community facility. Radson Development is developing and Aufgang Architects is behind the design.

First Look At 10-Story, 57-Unit Residential Development At 305 West 128th Street, Harlem

This past January, YIMBY reported on applications for a 10-story, 57-unit residential development at 305 West 128th Street, in central Harlem, located on a block-through plot with West 129th Street at the other side. Now, Harlem+Bespoke has an image of an on-site rendering depicting the site’s southern 10-story component. On the 129th Street side, there will be an eight-story building, and together, the entire project will encompass 68,103 square feet. As reported earlier, the apartments should average 931 square feet apiece, which means rentals or condos may be in the works. Fane Organization is the developer and Kutnicki Bernstein Architects is behind the design. The 10,000-square-foot site is currently vacant, though a construction timeline has not been disclosed.

3205 Broadway

Reveal For Columbia University’s Three-Story Academic Conference Center At 3205 Broadway, Manhattanville

Back in October of 2014, YIMBY reported that construction was wrapping up on Columbia University’s nine-story, 450,000-square-foot Jerome L. Greene Science Center at 3229 Broadway, between West 129th and 130th Streets, in the Manhattanville section of Harlem. It was the first building to rise within Columbia’s new 17-acre Manhattanville campus. Later that year, the single-story structures on the triangular lot immediately to the south were demolished in preparation for Columbia’s three-story, 55,890-square-foot academic conference center. Harlem+Bespoke now has a rendering of that building, located at 3205 Broadway. The building will include a café, an information center, offices, meeting rooms, and two auditoriums. Excavation work is reportedly underway and completion of the building is expected in 2018. Renzo Piano Building Workshop is the design architect and Dattner Architects is the architect of record.

Revealed: Six-Story Expansion of Harlem Hebrew Language Academy Charter School at 147 St. Nicholas Avenue

Back in October of 2015, the Harlem Hebrew Language Academy Charter School, located in the five-story building at 147 St. Nicholas Avenue, between West 117th and 118th streets in Harlem, filed applications for an expansion into the vacant corner lot on 118th Street. The five-story, 37,907-square-foot structure would be transformed into a six-story, 51,517-square-foot building through various vertical and horizontal expansions. Harlem+Bespoke now has an on-site rendering of the project, being designed by BL Companies Inc. Once completed, the building will include a cafeteria, classrooms, muti-purpose rooms, administration offices, and an auditorium.
