Construction has begun on an approximately $10 million restoration of the Morris-Jumel Mansion, the 1765 landmark located at 65 Jumel Terrace in Washington Heights, Manhattan. NYC Parks Commissioner Tricia Shimamura joined officials from the Historic House Trust, local elected leaders, and community members to mark the start of the project, which aims to preserve Manhattan’s oldest surviving residence.
