Two-Tower Development Begins Ascent at 80 Clarkson Street in West Village, Manhattan

At number 26 in our countdown of the tallest construction projects in New York is 80 Clarkson Street, a 400- and 450-foot-tall two-tower residential complex along the Hudson River waterfront in Manhattan’s West Village. Designed by COOKFOX Architects with SLCE Architects as the architect of record and developed by Zeckendorf Development, Atlas Capital Group, and The Baupost Group, the 37- and 45-story buildings will span approximately 650,000 square feet and yield 100 condominium units, nearly 37,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space, and enclosed parking for 69 vehicles. The $1.25 billion development is bound by Clarkson Street to the north, West Houston Street to the south, West Street to the west, and the topped-out 19-story 570 Washington Street to the east.

570 Washington Street’s Façade Begins Installation in West Village, Manhattan

Construction has topped out on 570 Washington Street, a 17-story residential building on the border of Manhattan’s West Village and Hudson Square neighborhoods. Designed by COOKFOX with SLCE as the architect of record and developed by Jonathan Rose Companies, Atlas Capital Group, The Baupost Group, and Zeckendorf Development, the structure will yield 175 affordable senior apartments with an average scope of 1,065 square feet, as well as 3,300 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The development is rising on the same block as the two-tower 80 Clarkson Street complex and is bound by Clarkson Street to the north, West Houston Street to the south, Washington Street to the east, and 80 Clarkson and West Street to the west.

New renderings have been revealed for 80 Clarkson Street, a 37- and 45-story two-tower residential complex under construction along the Hudson River waterfront in Manhattan’s West Village. Designed by COOKFOX Architects with SLCE Architects as the architect of record and developed by Zeckendorf Development, Atlas Capital Group, and The Baupost Group, the 400- and 450-foot tall buildings will yield around 650,000 square feet of space with over 100 condominium units, nearly 37,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space, and enclosed parking for 69 vehicles. The 1.3-acre, $1.25 billion development is bound by Clarkson Street to the north, West Houston Street to the south, West Street to the west, and a separate 19-story structure at 570 Washington Street rising on the same city block along Washington Street to the east.

The New School Signs Lease Renewal At Westbeth Artists Housing In West Village, Manhattan

The New School has signed a lease to extend its occupancy at Westbeth Artists Housing, an artists’ housing complex at 151 Bank Street in Manhattan’s West Village. The lease is for 20,000 square feet across three floors over the next ten years, a continuation of the organization’s tenure in the building, which began in 2003.

Permits Filed for 738 Greenwich Street in Manhattan’s West Village

Permits have been filed for a partial demolition of an existing four-story public parking garage and conversion and enlargement into a five-story building at 738 Greenwich Street in Manhattan’s West Village. Located between Perry Street and West 11th Street, the lot is closest to the Christopher Street-Stonewall subway station, serviced by the 1 train. Donnchadh Malone of Alf Naman Development is listed as the owner behind the applications.

New Financing Secured For 570 Washington Street In West Village, Manhattan

Jonathan Rose Companies and Atlas Capital Group recently announced the closing of financing for 570 Washington Street, a 180,000-square-foot residential development in Manhattan’s West Village. The project will provide 175 units of affordable senior housing, available to households earning 50 percent of the area median income and below.<

Construction is about to go vertical at 80 Clarkson Street, an upcoming 29- and 36-story residential complex along the Hudson River waterfront in Manhattan’s West Village. Designed by COOKFOX Architects with SLCE Architects as the architect of record and developed by Zeckendorf Development, Atlas Capital Group, and The Baupost Group, the 400- and 450-foot tall buildings will yield around 650,000 square feet of space with 100 condominium units, nearly 37,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space, and enclosed parking for 69 vehicles. ACI VI Clarkson LLC is the owner and Suffolk Construction is the general contractor of the 1.3-acre, $1.25 billion development, which is bound by Clarkson Street to the north, West Houston Street to the south, West Street to the west, and a shorter and separate 19-story structure at 570 Washington Street rising on the same city block along Washington Street to the east. The sales team for 80 Clarkson Street will be led by Dan Tubb and Amy Williamson.

111 Charles Street Wraps Up Construction In West Village, Manhattan

Construction is finishing up on 111 Charles Street, a seven-story residential building in Manhattan’s West Village. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects who received LPC approval for the facade design and built by BKSK Architects who also did the interiors, the 63-foot-tall structure spans 48,535 square feet and yields 19 rental units, as well as 6,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor and cellar levels. Titanium Construction Services was the general contractor, and Belden Tri-State Building Materials was the brick supplier for the project, which is alternately addressed as 540 Hudson Street and located at the corner of Hudson and Charles Streets.

145 Perry Street Wraps Up Construction in West Village, Manhattan

Construction is reaching the finish line on 145 Perry Street, a four-story private mansion in Manhattan’s West Village. Designed by Leroy Street Studio with Robert Silman Associates as the structural engineer, the structure will yield 30,000 square feet. Edmund Hollander Design is the landscape architect and Sciame Construction is the construction manager for the property, which is alternately addressed as 703-711 Washington Street and located at the corner of Perry and Washington Streets.

Foundation work is progressing at 80 Clarkson Street, the site of a two-tower residential complex in Manhattan’s West Village. Designed by COOKFOX Architects with SLCE Architects as the architect of record and developed by Zeckendorf Development, Atlas Capital, and The Baupost Group, the $1.25 billion project will consist of 29- and 36-story towers spanning a total of 937,808 square feet with over 100 condominium units across the two towers, and commercial space on the lower levels. WSP is the structural engineer for the project.
