Excavation is getting underway at 134 Jane Street, the site of an 11-story residential building in Manhattan’s West Village. Designed by Leroy Street Studio with BKSK Architects as the executive architect, and developed by Aurora Capital Associates, the 120-foot-tall structure will span 105,804 square feet and yield 15 condominium units, as well as 200 square feet of ground-floor commercial space, a cellar level, a 30-foot-long rear yard, and 20 enclosed parking spaces. 134 Jane Street LLC is the owner and Titanium Construction Services Inc. is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of Jane and West Streets along the Hudson River waterfront.

Gansevoort Peninsula Park Nears Completion on the West Village Waterfront, Manhattan

Work is nearing completion on Gansevoort Peninsula Park, a new 5.5-acre public recreational green space along the Hudson River waterfront off the West Village. Designed by James Corner Field Operations and commissioned by the Hudson River Park Trust, the park will contain a full-size soccer field surrounded by lush landscaping and shrubbery, numerous pathways, stepped seating, a children’s playground, kayak slips, a salt marsh, a dog run, viewing platforms, and Manhattan’s first public sandy beach. The site is located next to Pier 53, directly across from the Whitney Museum of American Art along Hudson River Park.

Repair work is set to begin on 18-20 Christopher Street, a pair of derelict two-story homes in Greenwich Village, Manhattan. Owned by Nazarian Property Group, the structures have been issued an order to vacate from the Department of Buildings and currently stand in a state of significant disrepair. The townhomes at 18-20 Christopher Street were constructed in 1827 and are located between Gay Street to the east and Waverly Place to the west.

Excavation Begins for Two-Tower Project at 570 Washington Street in West Village, Manhattan 

Excavation and pilings are underway at 570 Washington Street, the site of a two-tower residential project in Manhattan’s West Village. Designed by COOKFOX Architects with SLCE Architects as the architect of record and developed by Zeckendorf Development, Atlas Capital, and The Baupost Group, the $1.25 billion complex will consist of 29- and 36-story towers rising 400 and 450 feet, respectively, and will yield an undisclosed number of condominium units and commercial space. ACI VI Clarkson LLC is the owner and AECOM Tishman is the general contractor for the property, which occupies a 1.3-acre block bound by Clarkson Street to the north, West Houston Street to the south, Washington Street to the east, and West Street to the west. The developers acquired the plot for $340 million in early 2022 and have projected a $1 billion sellout on the homes.
