Radio Tower & Hotel Tops Out at 2420 Amsterdam Avenue in Washington Heights

Construction has topped out on the Radio Tower & Hotel, a 22-story building at 2420 Amsterdam Avenue in Washington Heights. Designed by MVRDV with executive architect Stonehill & Taylor and developed by Youngwoo & Associates, the building features a ceramic brick façade that breaks away into eight boxy volumes, each with its own distinct color. From top to bottom this includes a vibrant lime green and yellow that transition into subdued blue, red, orange, teal, and magenta materials. Overall, the building’s design draws inspiration from the diversity and vibrancy of the existing neighborhood and is described by MVRDV as a colorful welcome sign to upper Manhattan.

Exterior Work on Margaritaville Resort Nears Completion at 560 Seventh Avenue in Times Square

Façade installation is progressing on the 234-room Margaritaville Resort at 560 Seventh Avenue in Times Square. Designed by Stonehill Taylor and developed by Sharif El-Gamal of Soho Properties along with MHP Real Estate Services, the 375-foot-tall tower is now almost fully enclosed in its glass window wall, with just the upper-most floors remaining. The 29-story structure is located at the corner of Seventh Avenue and West 40th Street, one avenue to the east of the Port Authority Bus Terminal. The project is expected to cost around $300 million.

110-112 Liberty Street Awaits Excavation in the Financial District

Excavation has yet to begin for 110-112 Liberty Street, a 20-story hotel in the Financial District. Located between Liberty Street and Thames Street directly south of Four World Trade Center, the project is designed by Stonehill Taylor Architects and is being developed by Eddie Hidary of Hidrock Properties, which acquired the site for approximately $38.5 million in 2018.

159 Broadway’s Foundation Nears Completion in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Foundation work is nearing completion at 159 Broadway, a 26-story mixed-use residential project in WilliamsburgBrooklyn. Designed by Stonehill Taylor and developed by Cornell Realty Management LLC, the 133,340-square-foot project is located across the street from Peter Luger Steakhouse and directly abuts the 145-year-old landmarked Williamsburgh Savings Bank. The superstructure will top out at 277 feet tall and become one of the tallest buildings in the inland section of Williamsburg.
