New York City Announces New Climate Innovation Hub at the Brooklyn Army Terminal In Sunset Park, Brooklyn

The City of New York has announced the creation of BATWorks, a 200,000-square-foot climate innovation hub at the Brooklyn Army Terminal in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Led by a consortium including the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI) and the Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC), the project will be supported by a $100 million investment from the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC). The hub is designed to foster clean-tech innovation, serve 150 startups over the next decade, and generate an estimated $2.6 billion in economic impact. Key partners also include CUNY, NYU, and design firm Perkins and Will.

Demolition Awaits for School Building at 4001 4th Avenue in Sunset Park, Brooklyn

Demolition has yet to commence at 4001 4th Avenue, the site of a four-story community facility and school building in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Designed by De-jan Lu of Djlu Architect and developed by Azimuth Development Group, the structure is slated to stand 44 feet tall and yield 36,756 square feet, according to permits approved in September 2023. The property is located on a 10,017-square-foot lot at the corner of 4th Avenue and 40th Street.
