Permits have been filed to expand a three-story structure into a five-story residential building at 5005 5th Avenue in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Located between 50th Street and 51st Street, the lot is near the 53rd Street subway station, served by the R train. Iyad Saleh of Immortal Rise Inc. is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 65-foot-tall development will yield 28,357 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have 25 residences, most likely condos based on the average unit scope of 1,134 square feet. The steel-based structure will also have a cellar, roof terraces on the first and fifth floors, and a 27-foot-long rear yard.

Mohammad H. Baalbaki of Baalbaki & Associates Engineering is listed as the architect of record.

Full demolition permits will not be needed as the project calls for the second and third floor demolition, and a vertical and horizontal expansion. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
