YIMBY recently visited three new residential developments across Bushwick, Brooklyn. All are located between Wyckoff and Irving Avenues in close proximity to the DeKalb Avenue station, served by the L train, and will add nearly 150 units to the developing neighborhood.
The affordable housing lottery has launched for 477 Central Avenue, a four-story residential building in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Designed by Yoel Rozenberg and developed by Mordechai Kahan, the structure yields 16 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are four units for residents at 80 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $81,018 to $140,000.
Construction is complete on Linden Grove, a new 100-percent affordable senior housing development at 223 Linden Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Gilbane Development, Blue Sea Development Company, and JASA held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the building, which yields 153 studio and one-bedroom apartments for qualifying seniors, including 46 units set aside for formerly homeless older adults. The project was developed through the City’s Seniors First initiative. The property is located between Knickerbocker and Wilson Avenues.
Permits have been filed for a nine-story mixed-use building at 11 Cornelia Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Located between Broadway and Bushwick Avenue, the lot is near the Halsey Street subway station, served by the J and Z trains. Shimon Greenfeld of SCG Realty Inc. is listed as the owner behind the applications.
Permits have been filed for a six-story residential building at 1100 Greene Avenue in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Located between Bushwick Avenue and Goodwin Place, the lot is a few blocks from the Gates Avenue subway station, served by the J and Z trains.
