Construction on 842 Sixth Avenue in NoMad, has been stalled for the past several months and it is unclear as to if and when this planned 100,000-square-foot project will move forward. Designed by Danny Forster & Architecture, the 26-story building will house a 168-room AC NoMad Hotel by Marriott International and is slated to become the world’s tallest modular hotel. Concord Hospitality is the developer of the Midtown project, which sits between West 29th and West 30th Streets. Also part of the design program would be multiple outdoor terraces and a rooftop bar.
Exterior work is progressing on the topped-out Ritz Carlton Hotel at 1185 Broadway in NoMad as the curtain wall approaches the building’s 580-foot-tall pinnacle. Designed by Rafael Vinoly and developed by Marriott, Ritz Carlton Hotels, and Flag Luxury Properties, the 40-story skyscraper will yield 150,000 square feet and 250 guest rooms, which will sit above a multi-story podium rising from the corner of Broadway and West 28th Street.
Construction is nearing topping out at 113 West 24th Street, a 39-story Marriott hotel in Chelsea. Designed by Stonehill & Taylor Architects and developed by Lam Generation, the tower will stand 420 feet tall and yield 360 rooms averaging around 380 square feet apiece. The site is located between Sixth and Seventh Avenues.
Construction rising quickly at 223 West 46th Street, a 34-story Marriott SpringHill hotel in Times Square. Designed by Gene Kaufman Architects and developed by McSam Hotel Group, the tower will yield 70,000 square feet and 200 rooms.
Façade installation is nearing completion on the dual-brand Marriott Hotel at 140 West 28th Street in Chelsea. Designed by Gene Kaufman Architect for the McSam Hotel Group, the tower stands 470 feet tall and will contain 531 guest rooms spanning 173,000 square feet. Omnibuild is in charge of the construction process for the 46-story structure, which will house both a TownePlace Suites and a Springhill Suites.
