Gene Kaufman’s upcoming Marriott Courtyard and Residence Inn at 215 Pearl Street is steadily getting closer to the finish line. The project is a 396-foot-tall and 39-story hotel in the heart of Lower Manhattan’s Financial District. 320 suites are expected to be created inside the 165,655-square-foot reinforced concrete structure. Rooms will begin on the fifth floor, and terminate on the 37th floor. Nobutaka Ashihara Architects is the architect of record, while Lam Group is the developer of the project. The site is located at the intersection of Pearl Street and Platt Street.
Work at 113 West 24th Street is in full swing as the upcoming 420-foot-tall Marriott hotel has now risen above street level. The 38-story project is located in Chelsea between Sixth Avenue and Seventh Avenue and is being designed by Stonehill & Taylor Architects with Lam Generation as the developer.
Progress has been quick and steady at 1185 Broadway, aka 29 West 28th Street, the future NoMad site of the Ritz Carlton Hotel. Excavation finished in the beginning of January. Since then, the foundations and basement floors have been built to street level and the construction crane is up and running. The $500 million Midtown skyscraper is about to rise at the corner of Broadway and West 28th Street. Designed by Rafael Vinoly, developed by Marriott, Ritz Carlton Hotels, and Flag Luxury Properties, and with interior design by Yabu Pushelberg. The upcoming hotel will rise 40 stories tall and reach 580 feet above Midtown and the surrounding neighborhood.
Since the groundbreaking ceremony was held on September 4, 2018, NoMad’s future Ritz Carlton at 1185 Broadway has been making rapid progress. Excavation for the imminently 40-story and 580-foot-tall skyscraper has almost been finished, and rebar from the foundation walls is already poking up above street level. Designed by renowned architect Rafael Vinoly, Marriott, Ritz Carlton Hotels, and Flag Luxury Properties are the developers, while Yabu Pushelberg is the interior designer for the $500 million project.
Construction of 215 Pearl Street has largely gone unnoticed but has made significant progress. Since our last update in July of 2016, the building has topped out, façade installation is all but complete, and construction of the five-story reflective lobby is underway. The 39-story structure will be adding 320 hotel rooms to the Financial District neighborhood thanks to the developers, the Lam Group.
