Shorenstein Properties is renovating the 43-story, 1.1-million square-foot office building at 1407 Broadway, between West 38th and 39th Street, according to Real Estate Weekly. The updates will include a new lobby, entrance and retail space, as well as façade improvements on the rest of the building. Roughly 33,000 square feet of retail space will span the ground floor, and Fogarty Finger is leading the design process. Shorenstein acquired the building for $330 million this past spring.
The controversial redevelopment of Bushwick’s Rheingold Brewery has attracted plenty of press in recent months, but the another huge brewery complex across the street is about to get a new lease on life. A group of investors paid $33.7 million for the former Schlitz bottling plant at 95 Evergreen Avenue in January, and now they’ve released renderings of its future as offices and retail.
In February of 2015, foundation work was underway at 34-32 35th Street, in southern Astoria, where a seven-story, 33-unit residential building is being constructed. Now the building has topped out and receiving its façade, according to The New York Times. Dubbed The Marx, the 28,957 square-foot building will feature condominiums measuring from 675 to 1,363 square feet, in one-, two- and three-bedroom configurations. Kaufman Astoria Studios and Bronx-based Procida Companies are developing, while Fogarty Finger is designing. Completion is slated for early 2016.
Exterior work is wrapping up on 41-07 Crescent Street, in Long Island City, where Ranger Properties is developing a nine-story, 48-unit mixed-use building, which YIMBY first revealed back in May of 2014. A tipster has sent along photos of the project’s progress, and scaffolding is now being removed.

The 36,320 square-foot building will include nearly 4,000 square feet of retail space. Fogarty Finger is designing, and completion is scheduled for this September.
