Excavation and piling work is continuing for The Brook, a 51-story residential skyscraper at 589 Fulton Street in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by Beyer Blinder Belle and developed by Witkoff and Apollo Global Management, the 600-foot-tall tower will yield 591 units with 30 percent reserved for affordable housing, as well as 30,000 square feet of retail space and a 12,000-square-foot cellar level. Bonetti Kozerski is the interior designer and Suffolk Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is bound by DeKalb Avenue to the north, Fulton Street to the south, Flatbush Avenue diagonally to the east, and Bond Street to the west.

The below photograph below is aligned with the angle of the rendering in the main photo, showing the project site from the intersection of Flatbush Avenue and Fulton Street. Shots of the lot reveal marginal progress in excavation since our last update in June, though several more pilings have been driven into the ground. Below-grade work will likely continue into the early months of 2023.

The Brook will help fill in the gap in the Downtown Brooklyn skyline between 540 Fulton Street to the south and 9 DeKalb Avenue to the north.

The following photo shows the current state of 555 Fulton Street, a concurrent development from Witkoff, Apollo Global Management, and Downtown Brooklyn Partnership at the opposite end of the parcel. The one-story structure is designed by Beyer Blinder Belle, which will yield 7,902 square feet of ground-floor space and 6,459 square feet of space in the cellar level. A rooftop terrace with an outdoor bar will cap the building.  Bjarke Ingels Group will design the streetscape.

The main photo stood on the tower’s design, beautiful enough for me to looked its angle that gives prominence at high space. I love this area and hope I will be fortunate enough to live in this beautiful building! I love my City!

  4. Noticed all these towers starting to cluster, so if you want the best views of Manhattan, you’ll want to live above the 70th floor in the Brooklyn Tower! That way nobody will block your views! 🤗

  5. I will eat my hat if the one story commercial building isn’t changed into another tower.

The Duane Reade building is vacant now. A one story building is such a wasted opportunity.

  6. Say goodbye to that great view of the Brooklyn Tower in splendid isolation, as seen in the second photo. This building will put an end to that. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted …. About six months.
