35 Hudson Yards, Neighborhood’s First Residential Supertall, Readies for Spring 2019 Opening As Work Nears Completion

Standing in between Kohn Pedersen Fox’s 55 Hudson Yards and Thomas Heatherwick’s Vessel staircase, 35 Hudson Yards rises 1,009 feet above the rail yards as the 10th-tallest skyscraper under construction in New York City. Designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill, the 92-story mixed-use building will house 143 condominiums, a 217-key Equinox Hotel from the 15th floor to the 29th floor, and retail shops on the ground floor and second floor. This will be the tallest residential building at Hudson Yards and the third tallest in the first phase of the $28 billion dollar complex. Related Companies and Oxford Properties Group Inc. are the developers of the 1.1 million square foot tower.

Foundation Work Making Headway For Moinian’s 3 Hudson Boulevard, in Hudson Yards

Situated immediately to the north of Hudson Yards’ first phase, 3 Hudson Boulevard sits at the corner of West 34th Street and Eleventh Avenue. Seen through the crowded perimeter of trailers, trucks, and mechanical equipment, one can get a small glimpse at the amount of progress the site has made since excavation officially began about one year ago. The tower is currently the 14th-tallest skyscraper under construction in New York City, and will rise 53 floors and 940 feet to its rooftop when complete. FXCollaborative is the designer, while the Moinian Group is the developer of the two million square foot project.

Rising on the southwestern corner of Phase I at Hudson Yards, 15 Hudson Yards is wrapping up its glass exterior work, while interiors are getting ready for opening day this coming spring. Designed by Diller Scofidio + RenfroRockwell Group, and Ismael Leyva Architects, the tower stands 88 floors, and ranks as the 15th-tallest skyscraper under construction in New York City. It is being developed by Related Companies and Oxford Properties Group.

Final Touches Underway for Related’s 55 Hudson Yards, Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox

Enclosed in a grid of dark, two-story tall square and rectangular windows with rounded corners, 55 Hudson Yards is the second office tower to be completed and the shortest skyscraper of Phase I at Hudson Yards. Rising 780 feet and 51 stories tall, it is designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and developed by Related Companies and Oxford Properties Group Inc. Despite relative diminution of height within Hudson Yards itself, the building is the 21st-tallest tower with work still ongoing in the Five Boroughs, and by today’s rapidly changing rankings, 55 Hudson Yards is the 74th tallest building in the entire country, standing the same height as the iconic Bank of America Center in Houston, Texas.

Surprisingly Attractive Hotel at 461 West 34th Street Almost Complete in Hudson Yards, Manhattan

Construction of the 29-story hotel at 461 West 34th Street has long been topped-out, and now the façade is fully complete, with interior work also nearing the finish line. Marx Development Group is responsible for the development. Imminently, the 312-foot-tall structure will add 399 hotel rooms to the Hudson Yards neighborhood, under the Courtyard Hotel brand. On the street level, a retail space will help activate the corner location. The spot is soon to be in extreme demand, as it serves the burgeoning Hudson Yards office and housing markets.
