Rockrose Files Permits for 52-Story Tower at 555 West 38th Street in Hudson Yards

New permits have been filed for a 52-story residential building at 555 West 38th Street in the Hudson Yards district of Manhattan. While the site is across the street from the Jacob Javits Convention center, it is not immediately next to Related’s mega-development, being five blocks away from 55 Hudson Yards. Rockrose will be responsible for the development.

New Renderings Debut for 35 Hudson Yards, Neighborhood’s First Residential Supertall

New renderings have been released for the 92-story Skidmore Owings & Merrill (SOM)-designed 35 Hudson Yards, the second tallest structure in the mega-development. Along with the new renderings, images of construction reveal that the façade has shot up to just a few stories under the peak. Once fully installed, all five of the HY towers currently n the skyline will be near completely clad.

Excavation In Full Swing for Tishman Speyer’s Spiraling Supertall, Hudson Yards

In June, Tishman Speyer announced that construction would start for their 64-story supertall office tower in the Hudson Yards district, dubbed The Spiral, so named for BIG’s staircase terrace motif. The look is indicative of the modern collaborative style of workspace the architects and developers are working to create. Today, YIMBY has an update on progress, which appears to be making swift headway. The site’s official address is 509 West 34th Street.

Supertall 50 Hudson Yards Sees Slight Height Increase, Will Now Rise 1,011 Feet

New permits have been filed that reveal 50 Hudson Yards will rise to be 1,011 feet tall. This brings the tower further into the supertall territory, when before it was one foot above the official minimum of 984 feet, or 300 meters. It is unclear how or if this will affect the overall design. The tower is the last of Hudson Yard’s first phase to start construction, and will coincidentally be the largest by floor area.
