Hospital For Special Surgery’s Expansion Begins to Take Shape on Manhattan’s Upper East Side
Construction is underway on The Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Tower, a 12-story waterfront expansion of the Hospital For Special Surgery at 535 East 70th Street in the Lenox Hill section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by EwingCole, the $200 million addition will span 100,000 square feet directly over FDR Drive and connect to the main hospital wing to the south via a sky bridge. Tishman Construction Corp. is the general contractor for the property, which is located between East 71st and 72nd Streets.
Stephen and Christine Schwarzman Animal Medical Center’s Expansion Progresses on Manhattan’s Upper East Side
Construction is steadily moving along on the Stephen and Christine Schwarzman Animal Medical Center, a ten-story veterinary hospital at 510 East 62nd Street in the Lenox Hill section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Perkins + Will, the $100 million non-profit project will add 11,000 square feet to the existing 26,000-square-foot, 63-year-old structure. Turner Construction Company is the general contractor for the property, which is bound by the East 62nd Street to the north, East 61st Street to the south, FDR Drive to the east, and York Avenue to the west.
Work Continues on 217 9th Street in Gowanus, Brooklyn
Construction is progressing on 217 9th Street, a seven-story mixed-use building in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Designed by Gee 2000 Architect PC and developed by Praim Singh, the 13,500-square-foot structure will yield 13 units with an average scope of 808 square feet, as well as a 2,990-square-foot medical facility on the ground floor. 360 Prestige Contracting is the general contractor for the project, which is located between 3rd and 4th Avenues.
Northwell Health Breaks Ground on $468M Pavilion at South Shore Hospital in Bay Shore, Long Island
Construction is now underway at South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, Long Island, where a six-story medical pavilion will soon take shape. Led by Northwell Health and designed by EwingCole, the 190,000-square-foot building will add 90 private patient rooms, ten operating rooms, and three procedure rooms to the sprawling hospital campus.
