Located between Lorimer Street and Leonard Street, the lot is near the Lorimer Street subway station, serviced by the L train. Yitzchok Katz of Developing NY State is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The affordable housing lottery has launched for 911 Bryant Avenue, a four-story residential building in Hunts Point, The Bronx. Designed by Fred Geremia Architects & Planners, the structure yields six residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are two units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $75,429 to $165,230.
Construction is underway on The Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Tower, a 12-story waterfront expansion of the Hospital For Special Surgery at 535 East 70th Street in the Lenox Hill section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by EwingCole, the $200 million addition will span 100,000 square feet directly over FDR Drive and connect to the main hospital wing to the south via a sky bridge. Tishman Construction Corp. is the general contractor for the property, which is located between East 71st and 72nd Streets.
Work is taking shape at 309 East 94th Street, the future site of an eight-story 200,000-square foot life sciences facility on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Perkins + Will and developed by Elevate Research Properties, the life sciences subsidiary of Taconic Partners, Nuveen Real Estate and Flatiron Equities, the building is going to be expanded, recladded, and fully renovated. The project will be called the Iron Horse Labs, named after New York Yankees legend Lou “Iron Horse” Gehrig who was born at the same address. 309 East 94th Street Property Owner LLC is listed as the owner and JRM Construction Management is the general contractor for the property, which is situated on a large interior lot between First and Second Avenues.
The Soloviev Group has announced the inclusion of 513 affordable housing units within the proposed Freedom Plaza in Manhattan, significantly contributing to the city’s inclusionary housing efforts. Located from 38th to 41st Streets east of First Avenue and covering over six acres in Midtown East, the ambitious mixed-use development was already slated to feature 4.77 acres of green space, a museum, shopping and restaurants, and a hotel. Now with the inclusion of the affordable units, it also stands to be one of Manhattan’s largest inclusionary housing initiatives in more than a decade.
