Renderings have been revealed of the 20-story, 74-unit mixed-use building under development at 591 Third Avenue, located between East 38th and 39th streets in Murray Hill. The latest building permits indicate the project, dubbed The Lindley, will encompass 96,166 square feet and rise 213 feet to its roof, not including the bulkhead.

The latest building permits indicate the structure encompasses 67,573 square feet and rises 185 feet above street level, not including the bulkhead. There will be 7,929 square feet of office space on the ground through third floors for a “philanthropic non-profit institution,” per the Schedule A. The residential units, rentals, should average 893 square feet apiece. Eighteen percent of them (10 units) will rent at below-market rates through the affordable housing lottery. CBSK Ironstate — comprised of SK Development, CB Developers, and Ironstate Development — is the developer. Rawlings Architects is the behind the architecture. Completion is expected in early 2017.
A big hole in the ground on Manhattan’s East Side is nearly ready to be filled. Foundation work is almost done at 685 First Avenue, located between East 39th and East 40th streets in Murray Hill.
About two years ago, an old Yeshiva University lecture hall in Murray Hill, on the East Side of Manhattan, bit the dust. Now, completion of its replacement is not far off.
The 36-story, 372-unit residential tower being constructed at 225 East 39th Street, located on Tunnel Exit Street between East 39th and 40th streets in Murray Hill, has topped out since YIMBY’s last update in February, when the structure was 16 stories above street level. Curtain wall installation is now underway on the structure, as seen in photos posted to the YIMBY Forums by Tectonic. The building measures 373,248 square feet in its entirety, and its residential units, which will be rental apartments, should average 922 square feet apiece. Twenty percent of the units, or 75, will rent at below-market rates through the affordable housing lottery. Amenities include a fitness center, a children’s playroom, tenant lounges, a café, a library, a landscaped courtyard, and a recreational area on the 35th floor. Fisher Brothers is the developer, and Handel Architects is behind the architecture. Completion can probably be expected later this year.
