Aveda Arts & Sciences Institutes to Relocate to 20 Jay Street in DUMBO, Brooklyn

Aveda Arts & Sciences Institutes has announced plans to relocate its New York City campus from Soho, Manhattan to 20 Jay Street in DUMBO, Brooklyn in the summer of 2025. The school will be addressed as 35 Pearl Street within the retail portion of the 11-story office building owned by Two Trees Management, and will feature modern classrooms and dedicated spaces for hands-on learning.

New York City Opens 24 New School Buildings For The 2024-2025 School Year

New York City Mayor Eric Adams, Public Schools Chancellor David Banks, and School Construction Authority president and CEO Nina Kubota have announced the opening of 24 new school buildings across the city for the 2024-2025 school year. This K-12 expansion is the largest by seat count by the SCA since 2003, with 11,010 additional seats. The newly adopted 2025-2029 capital plan also provides funding for another 33,417 seats.

Leasing Launches for Park & Arbor at 18 Park Avenue in Old Tappan, New Jersey

Leasing has launched for Park & Arbor, a two-building mixed-use complex nearing completion at 18 Park Avenue in Old Tappan, New Jersey. Developed by Hornrock Properties, the community will yield 110 rental homes in one to three-bedroom configurations in one building and 21,000 square feet of retail space in the other.

Kushner Secures $415 Million In Financing For Monmouth Square Redevelopment In Eatontown, New Jersey

Kushner has secured $415 million in construction financing for Monmouth Square, a mixed-use redevelopment of Monmouth Mall in Eatontown, New Jersey. The financing package includes a $303 million residential loan from Fortress Investment Group and a $112.5 million retail loan from Rithm Capital Corp, managed by GreenBarn Investment Group.

Construction has topped out on 255 East 39th Street, a 20-story residential building in Murray Hill, Manhattan. Designed by CetraRuddy and developed by Brause Realty in collaboration with Lonicera Partners and AECOM Tishman, the structure will yield 157 units with 48 designated for affordable housing. The property is located at the northwest corner of East 39th Street and Second Avenue.

Affordable Housing Lottery Launches For 420 Carroll In Gowanus, Brooklyn

The Domain Companies, in partnership with VOREA Group, Silverstein Properties, and Cantor Fitzgerald, L.P., has launched an affordable housing lottery for 90 homes at 420 Carroll in Gowanus, Brooklyn. The affordable homes, which are reserved for families earning between 40 and 100 percent of the area median income, represent 25 percent of the total 360 apartments in the development. The project was designed by FXCollaborative.

Merrick Academy Breaks Ground on New School Building at 134-11 221st Street in Laurelton, Queens

Mayor Adams Issues Executive Order To Review City-Owned Land For Potential Housing Development

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has announced the issuance of executive order 43, which requires city agencies to review their city-owned and controlled land for potential housing development sites. The executive order, which builds off the goals of the “City of Yes for Housing Opportunity” proposal, aims to support the Adams administration’s goal of building 500,000 new homes by 2032 to address the city’s affordable housing shortage.
