Permits have been filed for a six-story mixed-use building at 500 3rd Avenue in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Located at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and 11th Street, the lot is near the 4th Avenue-9th Street subway station, served by the F, G, and R trains. Paul Basile of Salvatore Basile II Inc. is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 74-foot-tall development will yield 41,656 square feet, with 34,995 square feet designated for residential space and 6,661 square feet for commercial space. The building will have 50 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 699 square feet. The steel-based structure will also have a cellar with 25 accessory bike parking spaces.

Harry Hong of H2 Consulting PE PC is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits were filed last month for the three=story structure on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. This building has been demolished for 2 years already.

  2. weird – there hasn’t been a building on that lot for two years. the demolition permits posted on the scaffolding says 2023. The building permits on the scaffolding all expired in 2024.
Is there really any new activity for this lot?
