CityPickle is set to open a new flagship location at 1501 Broadway in Times Square, Manhattan, marking its first year-round indoor pickleball club in the borough. The facility will occupy over 37,000 square feet on the eighth floor of the historic Paramount Building, with plans to open in fall 2025. Developed in partnership with architecture firm Sentient Design Works, the project will serve as both the company’s headquarters and its largest venue to date. The property is located between West 43rd and 44th Streets.
The Midtown venue will feature seven professional pickleball courts, a full-service bar and restaurant, lounge and event spaces, showers, and other amenities. The space’s 18-foot-high ceilings and column-free layout were key in its selection for the new club. CityPickle, which currently operates seasonal and pop-up locations across the city, including Wollman Rink in Central Park, Union Square, and Hudson Yards, continues to expand its presence, with a Brooklyn Bridge site scheduled to open in spring 2026.
The landmarked Paramount Building 1501 Broadway was built in the 1920s and was originally home to Paramount Pictures and the Paramount Theatre. Transit nearby the property includes the 1, 2, 3, 7, N, Q, R, W, A, C, and E trains.
“There’s no better place to plant our flag than Times Square, the epicenter of culture and entertainment,” said Mary Cannon, co-founder of CityPickle. “When selecting the location for our flagship, accessibility was key. Being near so many subway lines allows us to welcome players from all over the city while also catering to professionals working nearby, giving them a fun and active way to connect before or after work, or even on their lunch break.”

Not a bad idea until the Pickle Ball fad dissolves-
Yes, Pickle Ball doesn’t have that ‘forever’ feel about it..
That’s what they said about rock and roll. And plastics.
Judging by the 18 foot tall ceilings, I suspect the courts are not located in the tower portion of the building, but instead in the old Paramount Theater section right behind it – it was chopped up onto office space for the NYT back in the 1960’s, so I doubt there’s much of a theatrical element remaining in the space.
Everywhere I go, be it Canada, Mexico, England or Netherlands (where I am now) pickleball is growing exponentially. Plus it’s going to be an Olympic sport. Only someone who doesn’t play would think it’s a passing fad.
