Construction is rising on 14 White Street, a seven-story residential building in Tribeca East Historic District. Designed by DXA Studio and developed by 14 White Street Property Owner LLC, the 30,000-square-foot structure will yield ten condominium units ranging from 1,200-square-foot two-bedroom homes to four-bedroom layouts spanning 4,000 square feet, as well as 3,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor and cellar. NAVA is the interior designer and Central is the general contractor for the property, which is bound by White Street to the south and Sixth Avenue to the east.

Excavation was still underway at the time of our last update in September. Since then, crews have built the reinforced concrete foundations up to street level and are now working on the inner core walls against the flat western side of the trapezoidal parcel.

Renderings of 14 White Street depict an red earth-toned façade composed of angular bronze panels etched with a subtle diamond pattern that surround a uniform grid of floor-to-ceiling glass windows. The design is a contemporary take on the neighborhood’s cast iron past, with a palette and sense of scale that blends naturally with the surrounding historic district.

It was last reported that there will be two units per level on floors two through five, with full-floor units on the sixth and seventh stories. One of the upper units will be a penthouse with private outdoor space. Residential amenities include a communal roof terrace. The development is also being engineered to ultra-efficient passive building standards.

YIMBY anticipates 14 White Street to finish construction sometime in 2025.

  1. This is one where I feel like it’ll look better in real life than the renderings.

  2. Very excited to see this one! Same developer as 80 East 10th in EV. Prideful architecture.

I must bow my head to this building before I leave, so you have prepared various views. I agree that it is beautiful in the historical area: Thanks to Michael Young.

This design is really beautiful and a happy fix for a vacant lot. Looking forward to seeing it completed.
