Finishing touches are underway on 7 West 57th Street, a 19-story mixed-use tower along Billionaires’ Row in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Hill West Architects and developed by Solow Realty & Development Group, the 237-foot-tall structure is located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, directly adjacent to the eastern side of Solow’s 50-story SOM-designed skyscraper at 9 West 57th Street.

Since our last update in March, work has nearly completed on the sides of the tower, which is being clad in channeled glass and horizontal metal elements.

The slim southern wall facing West 57th Street remains fairly the same with only the sidewalk scaffolding around the ground floor still waiting to be removed. The back side that looks over the surrounding neighbors and toward Central Park appears to be finished, including the mechanical extension that is now fully enclosed in metal panels. A telescopic window washing crane is perched atop the edifice.

7 West 57th Street is reported to yield 32,099 square feet of residential space divided into 16 full-floor condominium units, averaging just over 2,000 square feet apiece. The first two stories are planned to contain 4,100 square feet of retail space. Residents on the very top floors will have Central Park views, while every unit also has floor-to-ceiling windows around the southern and western corners that look up and down 57th Street, including Fifth Avenue. Occupants are within a short walking distance of a number of popular flagship stores such as Tiffany & Co., BLVGARI, Louis Vuitton, Ermenegildo Zegna, and Bergdorf Goodman at the end of the block.

YIMBY estimates 7 West 57th Street’s long-awaited completion to happen by the end of the year.
