The affordable housing lottery is open for Maverick, a 20-story mixed-use development at 225 West 28th Street in Chelsea, Manhattan. Designed by DXA Studio and developed by HAP Investments, the 154,820-square-foot building will yield 112 units. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 35 units for residents at 70 to 80 percent of the area median income, ranging in eligible income from $34,115 to $112,800.
Residential amenities include a 60-foot-long swimming pool, gym with sauna and steam room, rooftop terrace with kitchen and lounge, a children’s playroom, shared laundry room, yoga room, storage, and bicycle storage. 225 West 28th Street will also have 100 enclosed parking spaces.
At 70 percent of the AMI, there are four studios with a $995 monthly rent for incomes ranging from $34,115 to $63,700; six one-bedrooms with a $1,029 monthly rent for incomes ranging from $35,280 to $71,680; and two one-bedrooms with a $1,208 monthly rent for incomes ranging from $41,418 to $71,680.
At 80 percent of the AMI, there are 16 one-bedrooms with a $1,208 monthly rent for incomes ranging from $41,418 to $81,920; five two-bedrooms with a $1,462 monthly rent for incomes ranging from $50,126 to $98,240; and two three-bedrooms with a $1,681 monthly rent for incomes ranging from $57,635 to $112,800.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than April 5, 2021.
