Construction has topped out at 145 West 47th Street, a 48-story hotel in Times Square. Designed by Berg + Moss Architects and developed by Tribeach Holdings, the property will operate as a 353,000-square foot, 630-room hotel.

Recent photos show the degree of progress that has occurred since our last update in late April. Since then, the reinforced concrete superstructure surpassed the final setback and reached its parapet.145 West 47th Street. Photo by Michael Young

The safety cocoon system has been completely taken down and an American flag has been perched on one of the corners of the roof parapet. This is visible from the pedestrian plaza to the west of the property. Meanwhile the curtain wall panels continue to be installed at an even pace. The northern elevation incorporates a mix of bare concrete and the glass and metal curtain wall.

Though no official rendering has been released for the RIU Hotel, the current state of progress is a good enough indication of the structure’s final look. Berg + Moss Architects is also the designer of another topped-out hotel of theirs one block to the north, the The Hard Rock Hotel at 159 West 48th Street. Both towers are contributing to the renewal of Times Square as the world-famous tourist hub continues to evolve as a destination for entertainment, dining, and retail.

YIMBY last reported that 145 West 47th Street is slated to be finished by the end of the year, as noted on the sidewalk construction board.

According to strength of crews, buildings along the side are beautiful: Hello New York YIMBY.

  2. Out of all the buildings being constructed in Times Square, I think the RIU Hotel is the best one. The others seem kinda bland, such as the Hard Rock Hotel. This one has some shape, which I like.

  3. This hotel has class! Wow
Congratulations to all the crew most especially to mr
Conor Moran who persevered & kept a cool head
