Moinian Group knocked down a diner at 43rd Street and 11th Avenue earlier this year. Now earth movers are excavating the site to make way for a 13-story residential building, and we have photos courtesy of Tectonic.

Moinian has tapped CetraRuddy to design the project, which YIMBY revealed in August. The building will have 165 units spread across 125,000 square feet of space, but we don’t know whether they’ll be rentals or condos. The typical unit will come in at about 750 square feet, meaning that rentals are likely.

The ground floor will have 11,000 square feet of retail, followed by 15 to 17 units each on the third through ninth floors, nine or 10 units a piece on floors ten through 12, and just six units on the top floor. There will also be plenty of amenities, including a gym, lounge, and shared terraces on the second and 13th floors. Two penthouse apartments will also get private roof decks.

572 11th Avenue will front a full block on 11th Avenue between 43rd and 44th Streets, about a block from the West Side Highway and Pier 84.

A handful of projects are also under construction in the hood, including a seven-story condo building at 615 10th Avenue and a rental building designed by ODA at 505 West 43rd Street.
