Villa House, a ten-story affordable housing building by The Doe Fund, has received its Temporary Certificate of Occupancy. Located at 3188 Villa Avenue in Bedford Park, The Bronx, the development will yield 68 units of affordable and supportive housing. Additional partners in the development process include the Department of Housing Preservation and Development, NYC Housing Authority, the Corporation for Supportive Housing, and NYC Human Resources Administration.

Façade Installation Begins on SHoP’s 9 DeKalb Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn

Curtain wall installation has begun on 9 DeKalb Avenue, soon to be the outer boroughs’ tallest building at 1,066 feet tall and number six on YIMBY’s construction countdown. Designed by SHoP Architects and developed by JDS, the 73-story Downtown Brooklyn residential skyscraper will become the first New York City supertall outside of Manhattan and will yield 425 rental apartments and 150 condominiums.

The Spiral Approaches Topping Out at 66 Hudson Boulevard in Hudson Yards

Work is approaching topping out on 66 Hudson Boulevard, aka The Spiral, a 1,041-foot-tall commercial supertall in Hudson Yards and number seven on YIMBY’s December construction countdown. Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group and developed by Tishman Speyer, the skyscraper occupies a full block between Tenth and Eleventh Avenues and 34th and 35th Streets and will yield 2.85 million square feet of office space. Turner Construction Company is serving as the construction manager, Banker Steel is in charge of manufacturing the steel, and Permasteelisa is the contractor for the glass enclosure for the 66-story project, which is expected to cost $3.7 billion.
