Garden Communities will soon debut its next rental development at 35 Walnut Avenue in Clark, New Jersey. Known as Walnut Hill, the property will contain 177 apartments that range from 942 to 1,964 square feet.
Final renderings have been released by StudiosC for Brooklyn Brewery’s new flagship location at 1 Wythe Avenue in Greenpoint‘s New Greenpoint-Williamsburg Industrial Business Zone. The ground-up seven-story construction will be located four blocks north of the brewery’s current 79 North 11th Street address in Williamsburg, and is bound by Banker Street, N 15th Street, and Wythe Avenue.
The affordable housing lottery has launched for 1376 Dekalb Avenue, a four-story residential building in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Designed by Dezhang Fang and developed by Tianyang Chen, the structure yields eight residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are three units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $72,000 to $156,130.
Modernization work is shaping up on PENN 2, a 31-story commercial building at Two Penn Plaza in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by MdeAS Architects and developed by Vornado Realty Trust, the project involves the replacement of the 412-foot-tall tower’s aging midcentury façade with a lighter glass curtain wall and the full gut renovation of its 1.61 million square feet of office space, as well as the construction of new pocketed corner terraces and a multistory cantilevering volume along Seventh Avenue. GMSLLP is the façade consultant and Turner Construction Company and Skanska are the contractors for the property, which is located between West 31st and West 33rd Streets within the Penn District revitalization master plan.
Developers and city officials recently joined to celebrate the beginning of occupancy at 1101 and 1089 President Street in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Developed in partnership by Breaking Ground and BFC Partners, the two-building complex once served as the historic Bedford Union Armory and now comprises 415 income-restricted rental units, a parking garage, and the 500,000-square-foot Major R. Owens Health and Wellness Community Center, a sprawling facility with large recreational spaces and offices for medical access and emotional counseling.
