Church At 24 4th Avenue Being Demolished For Development, Boerum Hill

The Church of the Redeemer, at 24 4th Avenue near the Barclays Center in Boerum Hill, is slated for demolition this fall to make way for a yet-to-be-determined development, according to The Wall Street Journal. Jackson Group acquired the property for $20 million in 2010, and the contents of the church will likely be sold. Demolition permits were filed in May, and a pre-demolition inspection conducted earlier this July passed.

Reveal for Five Single-Family Townhouses Planned At 73-79 Bond Street, Boerum Hill

Last summer, YIMBY reported on new building applications for the vacant lots at 73-79 Bond Street, in Boerum Hill, where Adam America Real Estate is planning five single-family townhouses. Now, renderings of the project have been revealed by The New York Times. The townhouses will average 4,100 square feet over six floors, which include two below grade and four above grade levels. Ben Hansen is designing, and completion is expected by the end of 2016.


265 State Street

20-Story Mixed-Use Building Rises At 265 State Street, Boerum Hill

Last December, foundation work started at 265 State Street, in Boerum Hill, where Flank and the Carlyle Group are developing a 20-story, 128-unit mixed-use building. Brownstoner now reports the building is up two stories above street level, and YIMBY has word that almost 80% of the structure’s units are in contract. Dubbed The Boerum, a hotel will occupy the first six floors, and retail is expected on the ground level. Flank is the design architect (as the firm designs and develops its own projects in-house), and Goldstein Hill & West is serving as the architect of record. Completion is slated for 2016.
