Construction on Quay Tower is wrapping up as the 30-story residential building nears completion. Located across from Pier 6 along the Brooklyn Heights waterfront, it sits next to the southern tip of Brooklyn Bridge Park. Designed by ODA Architecture and developed by RAL Companies and Oliver’s Realty Group, the 315-foot tall skyscraper will bring 126 units to market with the help of Douglas Elliman Development Marketing.
Quay Tower is not like most of the new residential skyscrapers rising in Brooklyn. The project sits directly against the Brooklyn Heights waterfront, soaring 30 floors above the neighboring brownstone-filled streets, and features a glassy façade paired with brushed copper-hued metals that evoke the iron girders along Pier 6, nearby. Now, the building has now shattered a record for the entire borough, with its penthouse entering contract for $20 million, nearly $4 million over the previous record for a Brooklyn apartment set by actor Matt Damon.
Past the historic Brownstones and occasional cobblestone roads in Brooklyn Heights, Quay Tower has found itself the perfect location, nestled between the BQE and the wildly popular Brooklyn Bridge Park. The location will guarantee future residents unfettered views of Downtown Manhattan, the rivers, and even burgeoning Downtown Brooklyn. The 28-story condominium project at the southern edges of Brooklyn Bridge Park has recently topped out, and the façade is now eight stories above street level.
