35 Commercial Street Completes Construction in Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Exterior work is complete on 35 Commercial Street, a 22-story affordable housing building in the Greenpoint Landing mega-complex in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Park Tower Group along with Greenpoint Landing Associates, New York City’s Housing Preservation & Development (HPD), and the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), the structure will yield 374 permanently affordable apartments and 7,600 square feet of lower-level retail space. Monadnock Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is bound by Commercial and Clay Streets to the south and Bell Slip to the west.

Housing Lottery Launches for 282 Hinsdale Street in East New York, Brooklyn

The affordable housing lottery has launched for 282 Hinsdale Street, an eight-story residential building in East New York, Brooklyn. Designed by Curtis + Ginsberg Architects and developed by New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, the structure yields 71 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 27 units for residents at 60 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $37,920 to $91,500.

Move-Ins Begin at 2856 Webster Avenue, Affordable Housing Complex in Bedford Park, The Bronx

Construction is now underway at 97 Glenmore Avenue, the site of a forthcoming affordable housing development in Brownsville, Brooklyn. The building will debut as Glenmore Manor led by private real estate company Brisa Builders Development, non-profit community developer African American Planning Commission Inc., and affordable housing owner-developer Lemle & Wolff Companies.

Developers Secure $297M to Complete Phase Two of The Peninsula Affordable Housing Complex in Hunts Point, The Bronx

Gilbane Development Company, Hudson Companies, and MHANY Management have secured $297 million to complete phase two of The Peninsula, a mixed-use, 100-percent affordable housing complex in Hunts Point, The Bronx. The five-building master plan is being designed by WXY Architecture + Urban Design and Body Lawson Associates, Architects & Planners and will be delivered in three phases.

Designed by Magnusson Architecture and Planning and developed by Xenolith Partners, The Kretchmer Companies, Jewish Association Serving the Aging (JASA), ELH Mgmt. LLC, New York City Public Housing Authority (NYCHA), the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), and the NYC Housing Development Corporation (HDC), the structure also addressed as 1810 Watson Avenue yields 205 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 106 units for residents at 50 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $0 to $60,050.

Developers Reveal Updated Renderings for the Barbara Kleiman Men’s Shelter in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn

The Barbara Kleiman Men’s Shelter will soon debut at 19 Debevoise Avenue in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where construction is now underway. The first phase of development includes the conversion of a former nurses’ residence on the defunct Greenpoint Hospital campus into the 200-bed shelter, which is expected to open by October 2025.
