Permits have been filed for a nine-story residential building at 116-14 Grosvenor Lane in Kew Gardens, Queens. Located between Metropolitan Avenue and 116th Street, the lot is closest to the Kew Gardens–Union Turnpike subway station, served by the E and F trains. Yonah Grunhut of Grun Group LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 85-foot-tall development will yield 143,013 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have 189 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 756 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have eight open parking spaces.
Naresh Mahangu of NKM Engineering PLLC is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits have not been filed yet. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

This strange little street is seeing a huge boom in midrise buildings. With 189 units, I’m guessing both of these houses will be replaced.
The LIRR station is close by. There are suggestions more infill stations should be added to the LIRR within the city to turn it into another subway line. Fares would be the same as the subway and this would help LIRR increase its ridership to help justify Eastside Access at Grand Central. It would also help alleviate overcrowded subways in underserved Queens.
