Senior Housing at 132-77 Metropolitan Avenue in Kew Gardens, Queens via NYC Housing Connect

The affordable housing lottery has launched for The Metropolitan Senior Apartments, an eight-story mixed-use building at 132-77 Metropolitan Avenue in Kew Gardens, Queens. Designed by Angelo Ng + Anthony Ng Architects and developed by Steven Li, the structure yields 40 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 13 units for residents at 80 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $55,578 to $122,000.

Amenities include pet-friendly policies, a garage with assigned parking spaces, virtual doorman, media room, recreation room, package lockers, gated access, and a gym and spa. Units come with energy-efficient appliances, air conditioning, smart controls for heating and cooling, patios or balconies, and name-brand kitchen appliances, countertops, and finishes.

At 130 percent of the AMI, there are two studios with a monthly rent of $1,522 for incomes ranging from $55,578 to $90,400; eight one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $1,624 for incomes ranging from $59,520 to $101,680; and three two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $1,937 for incomes ranging from $71,246 to $122,000.

Applicants must have at least one household member who is 62 years of age or older at the time of application and meet the income and household size. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than February 16, 2024.
