The affordable housing lottery has launched for The Elliot, a nine-story mixed-use building at 151 South Elliott Place in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. Designed by Kao Hwa Lee Architects and developed by Mendel Berkowitz, the structure yields 101 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 20 units for residents at 80 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $73,578 to $140,000.
Amenities include a garage, bike storage lockers, common area Wi-Fi, storage, package lockers, gym, yoga and dance studio, media room, outdoor areas, recreation room, business center, outdoor terrace, and a rooftop terrace. Residences are equipped with washers and dryers, dishwashers, air conditioning, hardwood floors, smart controls for heating and cooling, intercoms, and name-brand kitchen appliances, countertops, and finishes. Tenants are responsible for electricity, including stove and heat.
At 80 percent of the AMI, there are five studios with a monthly rent of $2,004 for incomes ranging from $73,578 to $103,680; five one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $2,139 for incomes ranging from $78,960 to $116,640; and ten two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $2,551 for incomes ranging from $92,743 to $167,570.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than July 22, 2025.

Also how unfortunate it has to face that bleak backside of the Atlantic Center Mall. Talk about an underutilized site! I hope we see it get redeveloped into something that alleviates the housing crisis and takes advantage of its proximity to all the transit options.

I live around the corner watched the building go up. And was finally able to look into an apartment which is literly on the first floor/ street level 2 bedroom. Tge bedrooms are no bigger than a small walk in closet. Kitchen is small and barely a livingroom.
