Permits have been filed to expand a three-story structure into a four-story residential building at 1780 Bergen Street in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Located between Buffalo Avenue and Ralph Avenue, the interior lot is near the Ralph Avenue subway station, serviced by the A and C trains. Steve Romanenko is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 38-foot-tall development will yield 4,402 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have eight residences, most likely condos based on the average unit scope of 550 square feet. The masonry-based structure will also have a cellar and a 62-foot-long rear yard.

Andrew Goodrich of Basic Groups Corp. is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the project calls for an expansion. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. This will be sh*t that ruins a beautiful block.

    • While this should be done to every home along the block, I hope the design is better than the chop-job next door.

      • It won’t be. There’s two of these pop ups next door. Both look like incompetent trash. Perhaps designed by the Taliban.

  2. Why is this allowed to be demolished. Leave these neighborhoods alone.
