Construction is moving along on 98-14 66th Avenue, a seven-story mixed-use building in Rego Park, Queens. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by RJ Capital Holdings, the 85-foot-tall structure will span 82,425 square feet and yield 62 units with an average span of 1,075 square feet, as well as 15,741 square feet of commercial space. KSK Construction Group is the general contractor for the property, which is bound by 99th Street to the northeast, 66th Avenue to the northwest, and Queens Boulevard to the southwest.

Recent photos show the progress on the triangular reinforced concrete superstructure since demolition concluded in mid-2022. The building currently stands three stories high, and crews were seen assembling wooden framework and scaffolding for the forthcoming floors, columns, and walls. Construction is furthest along around the western corner, and rebar can be seen protruding in preparation for the next concrete pour. Topping out could occur before the end of summer, given the relatively modest height of 98-14 66th Avenue.

The building will have storage for 33 bicycles in the cellar level, and 84 enclosed parking spaces on the second story. The nearest subways from the property are the M and R trains at the 67th Avenue station to the east along Queens Boulevard.

98-14 66th Avenue has an anticipated completion date of February 2025 posted on site. A finalized rendering of the project has yet to be revealed.

More parking spaces than housing units…
Queens has so much possibility to add housing for literally a million more people, if only it can be done right.

    • yep but the city refuses to do blanket mass rezonings for whatever reason so we’re stuck in this stupid situation. council could solve the housing crisis tomorrow by removing parking reqs and mass upzoning but that would be too easy for the morons in charge, so it won’t be done.

Queens is determined to remain a cager borough

    • Better build some more subways then.

      • Rego Park has subway access. This isn’t Rosedale we’re talking about.

        • Queens was intended to be blanketed in about twice as many subways. They never got built and an abundance of highways and parkways are in their place, thus the tendency for Queens to be the most auto-centric borough.

  2. Right near the subway and it is only 7 stories. Considering there are much taller buildings in the vicinity seems like a waste of a good location.

Also the amount of parking is ridiculous.
