Warren Street Hotel’s Façade Progresses at 86 Warren Street in Tribeca, Manhattan

Façade installation is progressing on the Warren Street Hotel, an 11-story building at 86 Warren Street in Tribeca. Designed by Paul Taylor with Stonehill Taylor and developed by Firmdale on a land lease from Solil Management, the 44,000-square-foot structure will yield 70 guest rooms operated by Firmdale Hotels as well as a restaurant, a drawing room, an orangery, a bar, and a private event space. Pavarini McGovern is the general contractor, and Kit Kemp is the interior designer of the property, which is located between Greenwich Street and West Broadway.

At the time of our last update in March, the reinforced concrete superstructure had recently topped out and exterior work had yet to begin. Since then, the grid of large industrial-style windows has begun to enclose the levels below the first setback at the seventh floor. The final façade of black steel beams is still awaiting installation, and will likely not start until all of the windows are in place.

The rendering in the main photo shows the appearance of the industrial-inspired façade. The setbacks will be topped with landscaped terraces lined with glass railings, and an overhanging canopy will be positioned above the entrance. The mechanical bulkhead above the parapet will be enclosed in black paneling and grilles.

The property is a short walk from the World Trade Center complex and is in close proximity to the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, A, C, E, R, W, and PATH trains.

86 Warren Street is estimated to be finished in the latter half of next year.

  1. I meant to say this Warren Street hotel was a better use of glass than most..

  2. Oh this is really nice, it fits the block perfectly. And I agree, this is a nice use of glass.

  3. Very cool! First setback height perfect! Can’t wait to see finished facade—A+ in industrial glass!
