GID Development Group has officially launched apartment leasing within Waterline Square, a five-acre development that includes a trio of distinct high-rise buildings and lush landscaping throughout. The $2.3 billion development is perched along the Hudson River on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and was designed by a world class team of architects including Rafael Viñoly, Kohn Pedersen Fox, and Richard Meier.

“We’re extremely pleased to introduce our luxury rental program at Waterline Square, which marks an exciting step toward realizing our aspiration to create the most innovative, comprehensive, and cohesive residential experience in New York City,” said James Linsley, President of GID Development Group. “We have created something that is unmatched in any residential development, and we look forward to welcoming our first residents as the transformation of this great neighborhood nears completion.”

The Pritzker Prize-winning team at Richard Meier & Partners served as design architect for One Waterline Square, the tallest of the three residential structures. The 36-story building contains approximately 530,000 square feet and 288 apartments with interiors designed by Champalimaud.

Two Waterline Square is the largest building by volume comprising a total 1.12 million square feet and 656 units. The structure is designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and topped out at 25 stories. Within, the interiors are designed by Yabu Pushelberg.

The final tower is located at Three Waterline Square and is designed by Rafael Viñoly, while interiors were handled by Groves & Co. This component of the development stands 391 feet tall and contains approximately 443,000 square feet and 244 apartments.

Future occupants will have exclusive access to over 100,000 square feet of amenities known as the Waterline Club. These spaces include an indoor tennis court, a rock-climbing wall, a skate park, a large basketball court, a bowling alley, and an indoor soccer field. Each tower will also include wine and grocery storage, pet spas, private storage area, lounges, furnaced terraces, among other communal areas.

In addition to the Waterline Club, residents of Waterline Square will have access to a beautifully landscaped, 2.6-acre park designed by Mathews Nielsen Landscape Architects. The space includes tree-lined groves, open lawns, walking paths, a playground, and water features.

When complete, the development will also include 37,255 square feet of retail.

Rentals start at $4,130 per month on the low end. Waterline Square’s condominium residences are currently available for purchase, with closings commencing later this year.

  1. Hill West did the vast majority of architecture work for all of the buildings.

  2. How ‘upper west’ are these? What are the surrounding streets?..you don’t say here..

  3. By looking at some old articles with pictures, I figured out what the cross street is. It’s just North of 59th Street on the Hudson – just North of the old IRT Powerhouse. The most consistently annoying thing at the Yimby site is the failure to identify cross streets in every article. Calling it the “Upper West Side” is lazy journalism.

  4. Leaving out the cross streets is just lazy.
