Permits have been filed for a three-story mixed-use building at 21-01 21st Street in Astoria, Queens. Located between 21st Avenue and 21st Road, the corner development site is three blocks east of the Ralph Demarco Park along the East River. The closest transit access is the Ditmas Boulevard Station in the neighborhood, serviced by the W train. D.A. Development Group is behind the applications.
The 35,386-square foot building will have a mix of condominiums, commercial space, and community facilities. There will be 19 units carved from the 16,844 square feet of residential space. Plans include a full basement built out of approximately 12,500 square feet for 13 parking spaces, amenities, and below grade space for townhouse units. Up above, 4,918 square feet of commercial space and 1,320 square feet of community facilities will be located on the ground floor. D.A. Development Group is currently exploring different tenants for the spaces.
Renderings have not been released, but the development’s facade will have a very modern look. Damir Sehic of C3D Architecture is responsible for the design.
No demolition permits have been filed as of yet. Anticipated completion is expected by mid to late 2020.
