LeFrak’s Dual-Tower, Mixed-Use Complex at 700 Washington Boulevard, aka “The Wave,” Revealed in Jersey City

In a surprising and exclusive reveal, YIMBY has the scoop for new renderings offering a first look at LeFrak’s waterfront development at 700 Washington Boulevard, in Jersey City. While the developer has released little information about the project, updated illustrations appear to match preliminary renderings made public in 2017, following approvals from the State of New Jersey.

Known today as “The Wave,” the development would comprise a 24-story tower and a 12-story building, with a five story connecting structure in between. Initial filings proposed a mixed-use, residential complex with 16,490 square feet of commercial area and 338 residential units.

HLW was originally credited as architect of record.

Located on the Hudson Riverfront, the development would arrive as the latest development in the Newport neighborhood of Jersey City.

Newport was originally an industrial rail yard and maritime port, but has undergone a drastic transformation overseen primarily by the LeFrak Organization. Today, the community serves the Downtown Jersey City area as a residential, commercial, and entertainment destination.
