Located at 143 Fulton Street in the Financial District, the new 364-foot-tall and 298-room Moxy Hotel is almost complete, with the final exterior finishes underway at the base of the tower. Two entrances to the building are located on Fulton Street and Ann Street, and up above, the project features a dark glass facade atop a four-story podium. SLCE Architects is the architect, while the developer of the nearly 129,000 square foot property is Tribeca Associates. Interiors are being carried outby Stonehill & Taylor.

SLCE describes the building on their website as follows:

“The first and second floor retail sits behind the double elevation lobby—leading guests up to the Sky Lobby with a central skylight. The third floor contains a bar and multi-functional flex room for guests, creating an exciting communal space.”

The location could not ask for better transportation convenience, as the Fulton Street subway station and its multiple entrances are within a very short walking distance, while the Oculus is just to the west. 143 Fulton Street topped off during the winter, and although it makes no impact on the Lower Manhattan skyline, it does manage to create a very stark contrast with the adjacent 222 Broadway, which was built in the 1960’s with very narrow windows and thin, closely spaced exterior facade columns.

Just across the street to the east of the property site is 19 Dutch, a new apartment tower that is also nearly complete and tops off at 770 feet, translating into an actual presence on the skyline. 130 William Street will also rise over the neighboring mid-rise surrounds by the end of the year.

These three examples of new construction show the revitalization of Fulton Street continues apace. The narrow passageway in the heart of downtown is already becoming a new and vibrant place to walk, shop, eat and explore, from One World Trade Center to the East River.

Completion of 143 Fulton Street is expected by the end of the summer.

  1. Please pardon me for using your space: Design work hard enough to beautiful, as well as construction on detailed.
