Permits were filed in March for a new building at 1728 Townsend Avenue in the Mount Hope neighborhood of The Bronx. Now, we have a first look at the elevation, with design by Badaly Architects. The project will be a six-story masonry building sporting the firm’s typical look.

The 56-foot tall building will yield 14,750 square feet, with 12,850 square feet dedicated to residential use. 22 apartments will be created, averaging 584 square feet apiece. 11 bicycle parking spaces and outdoor recreational space will be included.

Luce Popaj will be responsible for the development.

Demolition permits had been filed for the derelict two-story structure in December 2017. The permits are still awaiting approval, but construction is expected to last 18 to 24 months.
