Over the past few months, the five-building, seven-million-square-foot mixed-use development dubbed Manhattan West, located on the mega-block bound by Ninth and Tenth avenues and West 31st and 33rd streets, has been quickly taking shape. In April, the project’s 62-story, 844-unit residential tower at 401 West 31st Street, dubbed Three Manhattan West, topped out. And work has been underway for over a year to modernize the 16-story, 1.8-million square-foot building at 450 West 33rd Street, dubbed Five Manhattan West. Now, new renderings have been revealed of the office portion of the project, dubbed One and Two Manhattan West. Curbed NY was the first to report on the renderings.

Construction associated with the two office towers has been ongoing since 2012, when work commenced to build a deck over the site’s railroad tracks. By late 2014, work wrapped up on the deck and excavation kicked off on the edges of the site where earth was still present. Superstructure construction on the first office tower, a 2.1-million square-foot building, is now underway, as Law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom signed a 550,000 square-foot lease to anchor the building.

YIMBY initially revealed the news back in October of 2014. Completion of the Five Manhattan West is expected in 2017, then the residential tower in 2018, and the first office tower in 2019. The other office tower will be built once a anchor tenant has been secured and Four Manhattan West, a hotel-residential building, is still in the planning stages. Brookfield Properties it the developer, and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and REX Associates are designing.
