One World Trade Center: 9/11/2012 Update

Here are the latest photos of the World Trade Center, taken yesterday on 9/11 2012. Eleven years after the terrorist attacks, the new complex is finally nearing some sense of completion. One World Trade Center recently reached its roof, with only the facade and the spire left to install before the exterior is complete.

Also of note is the topping-out of 150 Greenwich Street, as well as the opening of the 9/11 Memorial Plaza. Components that remain incomplete include 175 and 200 Greenwich Street, the 9/11 Museum, the vehicle security center, as well as Five World Trade Center, which remains a vacant lot.

While substantial work remains, it’s great to see Ground Zero finally having some semblance of an identity. It’s unfortunate the entire process has taken well over a decade, but the end result will be well worth the wait.
